Siberia (January 04, 2021) The carcass of an amazingly complete rhinoceros has been discovered in Siberia for thousands of years. According to the Siberian Times, the Ice Age rhinoceros was discovered in the Yukotia region in August 2020 when the ice melted. It is thought to be a baby rhinoceros that may be 3 to 4 years old and died 20,000 to 50,000 years ago.
Ever since his body was frozen in ice and still has hair, soft tissues, intestines, teeth, pieces of fat and horns are part of his body. "This young rhino was 3 to 4 years old and probably drowned," said Dr. Valery Petunikov of the Yukotia Academy of Sciences. He said his radiocarbon test would tell when he would die, but It is likely to be 20,000 to 50,000 years old.
Earlier, in 2014, the frozen body of a similar rhinoceros baby was discovered in the same region, which is 34,000 years old. Dr. Valerie explained that the body of this newly discovered rhinoceros is covered with thick hair. This explains why the rhinos of that time adapted to the cold weather at an early age. The region is famous for the discovery of steppe animals and for sending this new discovery to the region's capital, Yatosk. We are waiting for the roads to be made of snow.
